Including the injustice to the Palestinian people vis-a-visa our relations with Israel.

The US can take a stand, guarantee security to Israel and hope and prosperity to Palestinians and be just to both people.

Most of the world problems will evaporate including some anti-americanism, which is really shallow and not deep rooted among a majority of Muslims around the world.Mike Ghousehttp://www.mikeghouse.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3462242975774901312.post-18017448375251409742009-07-17T08:23:46.560-06:002009-07-17T08:23:46.560-06:00Dear Mike Ghaus Assalamolikum
After receiving you...Dear Mike Ghaus Assalamolikum

After receiving your mail, I immediately downloaded the 1st article
co-authored by Muqtedar Khan and John Esposito. In general I agree
with the theme adopted by the authors, I am for one who promotes peace
and harmony but this effort has to come from both the sides.

Unfortunately as mentioned in this article, the Bush era Foreign
Policy was based on fear and hate. his fear and hate was translated
into the domestic policy that led to various problems for the Muslims
within America. I fully appreciate the efforts of those Muslims who
are working to streamline and improve the West-Muslim relations. But
you would appreciate that the roots of this hate lie somewhere else.
No one is trying to address the root of the problem.

West also knows it fully well and they are not prepared to accept or
talk about the root, unless there is a sincere efforts from both the
sides and more so from the US who is the big daddy, the resolution
would be hard to find.

I have always maintained that the "Key to the world peace lies with
America and that is global justice." America will have to and it must
re-asses it's foreign policy viz-a-viz Israel.

As long as America goes on to support no matter what Israel does,
solution to any peace would be hard to come. When America asserts
herself over the Jewish state with an even handed policy, the things
would change for the better.

It is naive for anyone to be either anti-American or anti-West, how
can any sane person behave like that. We have kith and kins who are
very much part of the Western Society so in no way can we wish ill or
think bad for them.

It was again Bush who branded Muslim countries as the axis of evil
where as in the past, the same Muslim countries have been close allies
of the US and the West.

America in particular and the Europe in general must be made to
realise that they also carry certain responsibilities over their
shoulders, in fact being in power, they have greater responsibility.

I am for one who believes in the process of dialogue and dialogue all
the time and at every level. Dialogue alone can pave the way for peace
and prosperity.

A weak and oppressed society does not have many options, when they see
that they are not being heard, they lose patience and resort to
violence which is wrong, both in moral and ethical context. It's wrong
even in the context of Islam but then someone from the powerful
society has to bring them in, talk to them and find the solutions to
the roots of such problems.

I am for one who promotes peace, peace through justice and honour.

Today how many innocent lives have been lost in Afghanistan alone,
through carpet bombings, drone attacks and other means available to
the Invading troops. Has anyone felt or talked about those killed?
Just to brush it aside as a co-lateral damage as if the humans of that
region are no better than animals is an insult to humanity itself.

Best regards

Raja MujtabaRaja Mujtabanoreply@blogger.com
